I go to pull out of the parking lot, and my turn signal doesn’t work. They were supposedly having a special on bulb replacement, so I told them to go ahead and do it because it wasn’t too much. Went in for an oil change, and they said I had some bulbs out. Nothing too bad, but I stopped going there after because they seemed so clueless. I reported them to the state, but never had any followup from the shop or officials. I first asked why it was so difficult to remove it- it's not even clamped in. After much hemming and hawing, he pointed at the vacuum check valve coming off the brake booster. Popped the hood, asked them to point to it. After some haggling, they finally agreed. I told them to pull the car out of the bay and show me the PCV valve. I wasn't allowed in the garage as I didn't work there. They said if they were going through the bother of removing it, they'd have to replace it. They said it was dirty and I wouldn't want to mess up my shirt. I was told I failed for a failed PCV valve, but they could replace it for $75 or something and get me to pass. I came by in a shirt and tie after an interview. I had to go to a Jiffy Lube (or similar) for my E30's state inspection. r/Spotted (full vehicles only, no random junkers or car parts) > If you do not see your submitted post in "new" within 5 minutes, message the mods with the URL to your submission and we can fish it out of the spam filter for you.
